Bob’s Burger Pop Up

I’m in workout gear 95% of the time during my free time. Sometimes I really wish I was put together much more often than I really am. It’s just not comfortable. I would love to romp around in stilettos and skirts all day, but in reality, walking around in Los Angeles becomes pretty painful after 20 minutes. The roads aren’t nicely paved and I run the risk of snapping one of my ankles because I’m already clumsy as it is. I’m loving that athleisure has become a trend in 2016 and it’s looking like it will continue into next year.

 

To make athleisure work, aka not look like you rolled out of bed or came from the gym, I like to style it with a dressier button up like my studded camo shirt from Zara. It spruces up the entire look and I also like to add a billed hat to play up the sporty vibe. My Zara top is sold out, but I’ve listed another option from BCBG that you can cop.

Another plus to ahtleisure? You can eat big ass burgers like I did at the Bob’s Burger Pop Up in Chinatown. The pop up is two parts; a Bob’s Burger art show lineup + burger joint from a different chef everyday called “10 Days of Burgers”.

The pop up runs until 12/10 from 11am-4pm. I got there around noon (on Sunday) and there was already a pretty long line for the burger stand. I’m glad I got there when I did, because 15 minutes later, I turned around and the line had gotten even longer. I would definitely advise getting there early to at least be closer to the front of the line and to also make sure the burgers don’t sell out.

The Jalapeño Business Burger was Sunday’s burger created by Chef Christian Alquiza. It was amazing, to say the least. Most of the ingredients have jalapeño in it, hence the name. The jalapeño bacon was a little chewy, which I didn’t mind. The burger was also topped with crispy jalapeños, bubu sauce with, you guessed it, jalapeño juice, and karashi takana. The karashi takana, which is pickled greens with chili + mustard, really made the burger. It was mixed with cheese, I think either bleu cheese or feta, and gave it this smokey flavor.

Oh, the burger also came with a side of jalapeño curly fries. They were good, but I didn’t really care for those. One order came out to $16.35 after tax.

The gallery portion was a lot smaller than I imagined it, though since it’s a pop up, it kind of makes sense. It’s a collections of art made by Bob’s Burgers artists. The gallery is set up with restaurant dining tables reminiscent of the show, but you can’t eat on it.Like most Bob’s Burgers fans, Tina is my favorite character and I simply loved this little piece by Maggie Harbaugh. Some of the art pieces send proceeds to charities, like animal shelters, when sold, which I thought was pretty awesome.

The pop up is located in the Far East Plaza in Chinatown, first floor Unit 120. Enjoy!
